Esta investigación presenta la actitud del profesorado de educación física hacia la práctica del tenis de mesa (TM) en Educación Secundaria.
Para conocer la opinión de los docentes se ha utilizado el cuestionario Table Tennis Attitudes questionnaire. En la investigación participaron 196 docentes (142 varones y 54 mujeres) de la Región de Murcia. Un 23,5% del profesorado encuestado utilizaba el TM como contenido educativo. Se observan relaciones entre las escalas “Benefcios del TM” (BTM) y “Facilitadores para Aplicar TM” (FATM) (p<0,01), BTM y ausencia de “Barreras para Aplicar TM” (BATM) (p<0,05), BTM y “Actitud Positiva Deportes de Raqueta” (APDRP) (p<0,01); así como entre APDRP y FATM (p<0,05), y APDRP y ausencia de BATM (p<0,01). Los hombres muestran mayores problemas para utilizar el TM que las mujeres (p<0,001). El profesorado señala problemas pedagógicos, de instalaciones y materiales para impartir el TM. Edad y experiencia docente se presentan como las principales barreras.
This research shows the attitude of physical education teachers to practice table tennis in Secondary Education. The Table Tennis Attitudes Questionnaire was used in order to know the opinion of teachers. The research involved 196 teachers (142 male and 54 female) of Murcia (Spain). 23.5% of the surveyed teachers used the TT as an educational content. Links between scales “Benefts of Table Tennis” (BTT) and “Facilitators to Implement Table Tennis” (FATT) (p<0.01), and absence of BTT “Barriers to Implement Table Tennis” (BITT) (p<0.05), BTT and “Positive Attitude Racquet Sports” (PARS) (p<0.01) are observed as well as between PARS and FATT (p<0.05), and PARS and absence of BITT (p<0.01). Men show greater diffculties than women using the TT (p<0.001). Teachers report pedagogical problems and problems with facilities and materials to teach the TT. The main barriers to use this content are the age and the teaching experience.
