  • Resumen
    • Shanghai customs officials exposed two groups operating out of Guangzhou and Dalian provinces who were smuggling magnesia out of the country by incorrectly labelling cargo.

Chinese deadburned magnesia (DBM) exports in November 2014 were double the value reached in October, at 52,822 tonnes shipped to international ports. Top recipients were Japan, the US, Holland, South Korea and Iran.

Fused magnesia (FM) exports meanwhile were slightly lower in November when compared to the prior month, but 26% higher than the level recorded in the corresponding month in 2013. Customs data also showed that the value of the FM exports increased, indicating that prices may be edging up.
