Fisioterapia neurológica en unidad de cuidados intensivos en población neonatal

    Cuando se habla de un neonato en estado crítico hacemos referencia a un estado patológico en el cual se afectan uno o varios sistemas del bebé ocasionando que tenga que estar en constante vigilancia y monitoreo. Este artículo tiene como finalidad documentar las bases neurofisiológicas y estrategias de intervención de fisioterapia en la atención de recién nacidos internados en unidades de cuidado intensivo neonatal; por lo tanto se realizo una revisión documental de artículos teniendo en cuenta aspectos como: manejo del recién nacido en la unidad de cuidado intensivo neonatal desde el ámbito fisioterapéutico, abordaje sensoperceptivo y neurológico de bebés internados en la unidad de cuidado intensivo, excluyendo artículos donde hablaran sobre el manejo de niños en la unidad neonatal desde el ámbito respiratorio. Se concluye que es importante contar con un fisioterapeuta especialista en neurología en la unidad de cuidado intensivo neonatal para favorecer la neuroplasticidad, por medio de la estimulación neuroperceptiva, ya que a través de ella, el recién nacido logra adaptarse y reconocer su mundo externo, siendo esto la base para ejercer una acción motora.

    When is speaks of a newborn in State critical make reference to a State pathological in which are affect one or several systems of the baby so that must be in constant surveillance and monitoring. This article has as purpose document the neurophysiological bases and strategies of intervention of physiotherapy in neurorehabilitation in the care of newly born interned in units of intensive neonatal care; therefore is performed a review of articles considering aspects as: management of the newly born in the unit of intensive neonatal care from the field physiotherapy, sensoperceptivo and neurological approach of babies interned in the unit of intensive care, excluding articles that talk about the management of children in the neonatal unit from the respiratory scope. It is concluded that it is important to have a physical therapist specializing in neurorehabilitation in the neonatal intensive care unit to promote neuroplasticity, through neuroperceptive stimulation as the newborn can adapt and recognize the external world being this the basis for exercising a motor act.
