  Este artículo ofrece un primer estudio de El cerco de Viena, un drama histórico, atribuido a Lope de Vega, sobre la campaña cristiana contra los turcos en 1532. Se analiza su tradición impresa durante los siglos XVII y XVIII, sus problemas de autoría, sus fuentes históricas y literarias, así como los principios religiosos y políticos que se proponen en la obra. Finalmente, se reflexiona sobre los recursos escénicos utilizados por el dramaturgo para hacer eficaz dicho discurso sobre un escenario

  This article provides an initial study of The Siege of Vienna, a historical drama a ttributed to Lope de Vega that deals with the Christian campaign against the Turks in the year 1532. It analyses its printed tradition during the 17th and 18th centuries, the problems of authorship, its historical and literary sources, as well as the religious and political principles proposed in the play. Finally, we study some of the scenic resources utilized to increase the effectiveness in this dramatical piece .
