  • Resumen
    • This article looks into the processes of visibilization of a social topic, from its origins to its coverage in the media and social networks. We examine how a topic that has been ignored by public opinion and kept invisible, that of crews abandoned at sea, manages to capture the attention of the public and editors. The field study is based on ethnographic research on seven Mediterranean ports with fourteen abandoned crews. From this point begins a process of visibilization which is divided into two phases: when the reporter takes the role of author and source of information and, in the second phase, when it is other journalists, whom she has contacted, who work on the story
