    Para conmemorar el cuarto centenario del nacimiento de este artista orotavense nos hemos detenido ante su cuadro de la Inmaculada en el Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, aunque antes colgado en el oratorio de la casa de la familia Lercaro-Justiniani en La Laguna. Estudiamos la estirpe de los dueños de esa vivienda y analizamos la iconografía de este «retablo pictórico» a la luz de los datos históricos, deshaciendo errores de interpretación

    In commemoration of the quadricentennial anniversary of the birth of this artist we paused to contemplate his tableau of the Immaculate Conception in the Municipal Museum of Fine Arts, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which had previously been hanging in the chapel of the Lercaro-Justiniani family house in La Laguna.

    We perused the lineage of the owners of this home and examined the iconography of the «pictorial altarpiece» considering its historical data, amending long-standing misinterpretation.
