Resumen de El libertarismo rawlsiano: un análisis del modelo de justicia de la Escuela de Arizona

Una de las interpretaciones más interesantes hechas de la teoría rawlsiana es la presentada por la denominada "Escuela de Arizona". Este grupo de autores norteamericanos como John Tomasi, Jason Brennan o Matt Zwolinski, entre otros, ha dado un nuevo alcance al modelo de justicia social propuesto por John Rawls a principios de la década de los 70. A diferencia de la tradicional interpretación del liberalismo igualitario rawlsiano, este grupo de autores considera que para una mejor aplicación del principio de diferencia, las soluciones son las siguientes: desregulación, clara limitación del papel del Estado en la economía así como el reconocimiento de robustos derechos económicos. Este artículo pretende, en primer lugar, analizar los principales elementos de la teoría de este "libertarismo rawlsiano". En segundo lugar, se busca exponer cómo un partido cercano al libertarismo rawlsiano actuaría en diferentes políticas públicas. Por último, se expondrán las principales críticas que pueden presentarse a esta nueva corriente de libertarismo.

One of the most interesting interpretations made on Rawls' theory, is the one presented by the so-called "School of Arizona". This group of North-American authors such as John Tomasi, Jason Brennan or Matt Zwolinski, among others, has provided a new reach to the model of social justice proposed by John Rawls in the early 70's. Contrary to the traditional liberal egalitarian interpretation, this group of authors believes that for a better realization of the difference principle, the solutions are the following: deregulation, clear limitation of the role of the State in the economy and the recognition of thicker economic rights to the people. First, this paper intends to analyze the main elements of the theory of this "rawlsian-libertarianism". Second, to show how a "rawlsian-libertarian" party would act in different public policies. Finally, I will show the main criticisms that can be presented to this new kind of libertarianism.
