Resumen de Fluorspar 2013: Pricing review
In metallurgical-grade fluorspar (metspar) markets prices declined considerably over H1 2013 but settled towards the end of Q2 2013.
As this output became evidently unsustainable, Chinese producers of hydrofluoric acid (HF) and aluminium fluoride (AlF 3 ) cutback production levels throughout Q3 2013, easing both stockpiles and the downwards pressure on raw material prices.
The seasonal slowdown in Chinese production began in Q4 2013, causing acidspar prices from the country to increase by around $15/tonne in November. This upturn did not, however, feed through to metspar prices which remained rooted at three year lows.
