Resumen de La incorporación de fotografías en la novela española del siglo XXI: más allá del libro ilustrado

En el marco de los estudios intermediales que plantean la relación entre texto y fotografía, se propone el análisis de las complejas y desconcertantes relaciones que en algunas novelas españolas recientes (de Manuel Vilas o Agustín Fernández Mallo, entre otros) mantienen lo verbal y lo visual. Si en algunos casos se juega a crear una relación inestable y desconcertante entre el referente textual y el fotográfico, en otros se contraponen diferentes fotografías de un mismo referente, hasta hacernos dudar también de la estabilidad y veracidad del mismo. De ahí se concluye que, en todas las novelas analizadas, la fotografía no funciona ni como ilustración ni como explicación del texto, sino más bien como parte fundamental del entramado metaficcional del dispositivo narrativo de la obra.

As part of intermedial studies that suggest relationship between text and picture, analysis of complex and baffling relationships between the verbal and the visual, in some recent Spanish novels (Manuel Vilas and Agustín Fernández Mallo, among others), is proposed. In some cases it is played to create an unstable and disconcerting relationship between textual and photographic reference, in other different photos of the same reference are opposed, until make us doubt about stability and accuracy of itself. Hence, it is concluded that, in all analyzed novels, photography will work neither as illustration nor as explanation of the text, but rather as a fundamental part of the metafictional mechanism of work.
