  Este artículo se centra en la conexión existente entre tecnología y religión en el mundo contemporáneo. Presenta, en dos apartados diferenciados, una estructura teórica selectiva para el desarrollo de una investigación antropológica en este ámbito. Es un hecho que relocalización y la reestructuración de la religión en la sociedad del siglo XXI están cada vez más en relación al fenómeno del ciberespacio y la realidad virtual. La llamada ciberreligión, o la religión mediada por Internet, promueve la pluralidad y múltiples procesos subjetivos espirituales, determinando nuevas expectativas, interacciones y prácticas religiosas que adquieren unas características específicas dentro de los entornos tecnológicos. Por un lado, en el contexto de la religión globalizada, la red se convierte en un medio altamente intenso y efectivo para la construcción de identidades religiosas por medio de la socialización digital; y por otro lado, el estudio de la ciberreligión o del ámbito ciber-sagrado, tiene una fructífera vinculación con la dimensión corporal, en especial respecto al uso de tecnologías aplicadas al cuerpo, o del cuerpo en fusión con la máquina (según el concepto cyborg), sea con una finalidad trascendente o para el desarrollo de la conciencia y la experiencia espirituales en un plano transhumano.

  This article focuses on the connection between technology and religion in the contemporary world. In two different sections, it presents a selective theoretical structure for carrying out anthropological research in this field. It is a fact that religion in the society of the 21st century is increasingly being relocalized and restructured in terms of the phenomenon of cyberspace and virtual reality. So-called cyber-religion, or religion mediated by Internet, encourages plurality and numerous subjective spiritual processes, thus shaping new expectations, interactions and religious practices, which acquire specific characteristics in technological environments. On the one hand, in the context of globalized religion, the net has become an extremely intense and effective means for constructing religious identities through digital socialization.

  And on the other, the study of cyber-religion or the cyber-sacred, has a fruitful connection with the dimension of the body, particularly in terms of technologies being applied to the body or the body being fused with a machine (the concept of the cyborg), whether this be for some transcendent purpose or for developing the conscience and spiritual experience on a transhuman plane
