  Los crímenes sexuales durante los conflictos armados se han convertido en un instrumento de guerra de gran eficacia frente al que tradicionalmente se ha respondido con el más absoluto de los silencios. Resulta muy curioso que, solo setenta años después de concluida la Segunda Guerra Mundial, se alcance un acuerdo entre Japón y Corea para indemnizar a las mujeres coreanas que fueron víctimas de esclavitud sexual al servicio del ejército japonés durante aquella Gran Guerra. Sin embargo, en los últimos años del siglo XX y principios del XXi, la movilización social producida alrededor de esta cuestión, unida a los avances tecnológicos que nos permiten tener conocimiento casi en tiempo real de cuanto está sucediendo, ha provocado la sensibilización hacia estos comportamientos. Buena prueba de ello son los estatutos de los tribunales penales internacionales y su desarrollo jurisprudencial. Los avances en la represión avanzan aunque no ocurre lo mismo con la prevención ni con la posible reparación a las víctimas, ámbitos materiales que aún son asignaturas pendientes.

  Sex crimes during armed conflict have become an instrument of great efficacy that traditionally has been met with absolute silence. It is very intriguing that only seventy years have passed since the end of the Second World War when an agreement was concluded between Japan and Korea concerning the compenstion of Korean women who were victims of sexual slavery in the service of the Japanese armed forces during this Great War. However, the social mobilization around this question united with the technological advances that have taken place at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st make it possible to gain knowledge almost in real time of all what is happening and have provoked increased sensibility towards these behaviours. Important evidence of this are the statutes of international criminal tribunals and their jurisprudential developments. The advances with respect to do repression are advancing although not the same is happening with respect to prevention and possibl reparations owed to victims, both remaining unresolved matters.
