En este artículo se estudian las distintas escuelas metodológicas en lo que concierne a los procesos migratorios internacionales. Desde este ámbito global se realiza un análisis pormenorizado de las tendencias historiográficas en tomo a la emigración vasca y navarra hacia América en la Edad Contemporánea. Se analizan en profundidad los modelos analíticos que sobre esta materia han generado debate y producción científica de variado índole en el País Vasco y Navarra (España). Al final se incluyen unas reflexiones sobre lo ya escrito y el futuro de los estudios en torno a la diáspora vasca y navarra en América.

In this article there is a study of the different methodological schools conceming the international migratory processes. From the global sphere, there is a deep study downwards of the historiographic tendencies around the Basque and Navarre emigration towards America in the Contemporary Age.
There is an analysis in depth of the historiographic models on this subject, which have generated debate and scientific results of very different natures in the Basque Country and Navarre (Spain). At the end, some considerations on the already written and on the future of the studies around the Basque and Navarre diaspora in America are included.
