    La decoración arquitectónica de Caesaraugusta ofrece a lo largo del tiempo diferentes tendencias ornamentales. El inicio de su actividad edilicia viene marcada por los modelos itálicos derivados de la tradición del “Segundo Triunvirato” –capitel corintio de la calle Palomar- junto a una corriente siciliana-norteafricana, visible en un capitel jónico del Museo de Zaragoza. En la segunda mitad del siglo I d.C., además de la influencia itálica – pequeñas placas-capitel corintizantes del teatro-, se observa una vinculación estilística con formas del SO y E de la Galia.

    Esa relación es evidente en un capitel jonizante del teatro y en ciertas peculiaridades de varios capiteles corintios del foro y del teatro

    The architectural decoration of Caesaraugusta provides a number of differing ornamental trends over the years. The early buildings are characterised by the Italic models in the tradition of the “Second Triumvirate style” – the Corinthian capital in Palomar Street- together with a Sicilian-North-African style, visible in an Ionic capital housed in Zaragoza Museum. During the second half of the 1ts century AD, in addition to the Italic influence – the small “corintizante” capital-plates of the theatre-, there is also a stylistic link to types from the SW and E of Gaul. This link is clear in an “jonizante” capital in the theatre and in certain particular features of the various Corinthian capitals found in the forum and the theatre
