Partiendo de las múltiples definiciones de bioética, el autor realiza una serie de esbozos de futuro de la bioética entendida como bioética social y global que trasciende las fronteras de los países desarrollados.Desde aquí plantea ocho desafíos de futuro: la calidad de vida de los más vulnerables y la distribución justa de los recursos, la ética de la gestión del agua, la relación entre ecoética y bioética, los derechos de los seres no humanos, las fronteras entre lo humano y lo ético, la ética gerontológica, el transhumanismo y la eugenesia liberal.

Based on the many definitions of bioethics, the author outlines a series of potential future scenarios for a social and global bioethics that transcend the borders of developed countries. Based on these, he poses eight challenges for the future: the quality of life of the most vulnerable and the fair distribution of resources, the ethics of water management, the relationship between eco-ethics and bioethics, the rights of non-humans, the boundaries between human and ethics, gerontological ethics, transhumanism and liberal eugenics.
