Sistema de información geográfica, herramienta para el conocimiento y gestión de los recursos naturales

    El desarrollo, conformación y la recopilación de capas temáticas de un sistema de información geográfica (SIG) están en función del objetivo que se persigue con el desarrollo del estudio, en este caso, ubicación y características del uso y manejo de recursos naturales. Por lo anterior, es importante que las capas que conformen el SIG hagan énfasis en temas que describan las condiciones que guardan los recursos naturales en el entorno del área de estudio y también aquellos temas que condicionen o limiten su desarrollo. Para esta conformación se utilizaron los programas ArcView 3.2, ArcGIS 9.2 y AutoCAD 8.0. La información generada comprende capas o mapas temáticos como edafología, geología, uso de suelo y vegetación, hidrología superficial, áreas urbanas, vías de comunicación y curvas de nivel entre otros y a medida en que estos sean generados con mayor y mejor calidad de datos, producto de la verificación en campo, se podrá tener información para hacer analizar y concluir en estudios más precisos que tengan mayor impacto en la planeación, manejo y gestión del uso de recursos naturales.

    The development, creation and collection of thematic layers of a Geographic Information System (GIS) are in function of the objective pursued with the development of the study, in this case, location and characteristics of the use and management of natural resources. Therefore, it is important that the layers that conform the GIS make emphasis on topics that describe the conditions that keep the natural resources in the environment of the study area and also those issues that constrain or Iimit their development. For this conformation were used the programs ArcView 3.2, ArcGIS 9.2 and AutoCAD 8.0. The information generated comprises layers or thematic maps of Soils, Geology, Land use and vegetation, surface hydrology, urban areas, roads and contour lines, among others, and as these are generated more and better data quality, product field verification, may have information to analyze and conclude more accurate studies that have greater impact on the planning, operation and management of natural resource use
