En las páginas siguientes se analiza la figura de las maestras rurales, centrándonos en el periodo de la Segunda República española (1931 – 1939). Centraremos nuestro estudio en testimonios de testigos directos, y realizaremos un breve recorrido por la situación de las docentes en dicha etapa histórica. Finalmente, esbozaremos las características principales de la maestra rural como personaje que debe estudiarse adecuadamente en la historia de la educación de nuestro país.

On the following pages there is analyzed the figure of the rural teachers, centring on the period of the Second Spanish Republic (1931 - 1939). We will center our study on testimonies of direct witnesses, and will realize a brief trip for the situation of teachers in the above mentioned historical stage. Finally, we will outline the principal characteristics of the rural teacher as personage who must be studied appropriately in the history of the education of our country.
