In a short prospection done in the extreme north of the mediterranean littoral of Morocco, we have found 24 species of ants, 17 of which live also in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, showing important faunistic relations between the two countries. Of special systematic and biogeographic interest and worth of doing further studies, are the complex Aphaenogaster testaceopilosa-gemella-senilis, Goniomma hispanicum, Messor maroccanus, Tapinoma minor-T. simrothi, Camponotus sylvaticus-C. barbaricus, and Cataglyphis albicans-C. ruber.
