Resumen de Estrategias de los inmigrantes del Este en España durante la crisis económica

  La Gran Recesión, iniciada a finales de 2007, se manifiesta fundamentalmente como crisis de empleo y afecta sobre todo a la población inmigrada. La mayor parte de los migrantes han decidido permanecer en España y, para paliar los efectos de la crisis, han desplegado diversas estrategias en el ámbito productivo y reproductivo. Una de las respuestas al progresivo deterioro del mercado de trabajo ha sido la movilidad geográfica interior y transnacional, que adopta diversas formas: retorno, emigración a un tercer país y migración circular. La información utilizada en este artículo procede de 64 entrevistas en profundidad a ciudadanos de Rumania y Bulgaria residentes en España, y otras 32 a familiares y emigrantes retornados, que se realizaron en aquellos países. A los testimonios de los protagonistas hay que añadir los datos socioeconómicos que proporcionan el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y el Ministerio de Empleo.

  The Great Recession, which began in late 2007, is manifested primarily as employment crisis and mainly affects the immigrant population. Most immigrants have decided to remain in Spain, and to mitigate the effects of the crisis, several strategies have been deployed in the productive and reproductive spheres. One response to the progressive degradation of the labor market has been the internal and transnational geographical mobility, which takes various strategies: return to the country of origin, migration to a third country, and circular migration. The information used in this article comes from in-depth interviews to 64 citizens of Romania and Bulgaria residing in Spain, as well as from and 32 other interviews to family members and returnees, which took place in their countries. To the information coming from the emigrants we add socioeconomic data provided by the National Institute of Statistics and the Ministry of Employment.
