Evaluación de la filtración apical de dos sistemas de obturación mediante diafanización

    Han sido muchos los materiales aparecidos en el mercado de la endodoncia en los últimos años, entre otros, los conos de gutapercha de conicidad variable. Con este estudio se pretende evaluar mediante la técnica de diafanización el nivel de filtración apical que se produce al obturar mediante la técnica de condensación lateral y comparar dicha filtración con la que se produce al obturar mediante técnica de cono único de conicidad correspondiente a las limas de terminación del sistema Protaper, de reciente aparición en el mercado. Para ello se utilizaron 45 dientes, 20 de los cuales se obturaron mediante condensación lateral y otros 20 con cono único conicidad Protaper. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que los dientes obturados mediante condensación lateral obtuvieron menor filtración.

    Many materials have appeared on the root canal market in recent years, among others, gutta percha cones with variable conicity. This study intends to evaluate by means of the diaphanisation technique the level of apical filtration that is produced when filling by means of the lateral condensation technique and to compare this filtration with that produced by using a single-cone filling technique with the conicity corresponding to the finishing files of the Protaper® system, appeared recently on the market. To accomplish this, 45 teeth were used, 20 of which were filled by means of lateral condensation and the other 20 with single cone Protaper® conicity. The results obtained showed that the teeth filled by means of lateral condensation obtained less filtration.
