  • English

Up until Charles III, all the Spanish monarchs of the Borbon dinasty always commanded their most important projects to foreign artists. Although this tendency, specially in painting, has been seen by our historiography as a minus, we have to understand that in so doing Philip V, Ferdinand VI and Charles III were only following the path marked by the Spanish Habsburg dinasty, whom, from Titian to Moro or Luca Giordano, only wanted to command their projects to the best artists that could be found in Europe in their time.
