Resumen de Teoría social realista y la construcción del sistema educativo estatal en España: algunas propuestas para el análisis del cambio educativo

  Este trabajo tiene como objetivo esbozar algunas notas para entender el cambio educativo a través de las perspectivas conocidas como "teoría social realista" o "realismo crítico". El principal recurso teórico utilizado será el trabajo de Archer -y su conocida obra Social Origins of Educational Systems- quien ha trabajado en la explicación y el análisis del origen y el cambio de los sistemas nacionales de educación en diferentes países europeos. Por otro lado, algunos análisis recientes del cambio educativo que combinan investigación histórica con teoría sociológica han empezado a moverse en esta dirección. Se trata de indicar la importancia de estudiar a los diferentes actores sociales involucrados, a través de sus luchas, negociaciones y cesiones, en el cambio educativo. Una breve formulación de esta teoría será indicada aquí a través del ejemplo del origen del sistema nacional de educación en España. El análisis abarca el periodo entre la Guerra de Independencia (1808-1814) y 1857, año en que fue aprobada la Ley Moyano de instrucción pública que dio cierta estabilidad a las reformas previas.

  The objective of this article is to present an outline for understanding educational change from the perspective known as "Realist Social Theory" or "Critical Realism". The main resources used will be studies by Archer and her well-known Social Origins of Educational Systems; Archer has contributed to explaining and analyzing the origin and change of national education systEMS in several European nations. Some recent analyses of educational change, which combine historical research with sociological theory, have begun to move in this direction. The focus is to indicate the importance of studying the various social actors involved, through their struggles, negotiations, and assignments in the educational field. A brief formulation of this theory will be illustrated by the origin of the national education system in Spain. The analysis covers the period between the Spanish War of Independence (1808-1814) and 1857, the year the Moyano Law of Public Instruction was passed, giving certain stability to previous reforms.
