En el presente estudio se aborda la responsabilidad del porteador por retraso en el transporte marítimo, cuestión esta muy controvertida al amparo del sistema de La Haya-Visby e insuficientemente resuelta por el sistema de Hamburgo dada su escasa acogida; por ello, tanto las Reglas de Rotterdam, en al ámbito internacional, como la Ley de Navegación Marítima, en el ámbito nacional, parecen abrir nuevos horizontes.

This paper deals with the carrier's liability for delay in the maritime transport, which is a very controversial issue under the Hague-Visby rules and insufficiently resolved by the Hamburg Rules because of their scarce reception. Thus, both the Rotterdam Rules at the international level, and the new Spanish Maritime Navigation Act 2014 at the national /evel, seem to open new horizons.
