Shaylah Sánchez-Valdemoro Ramos

In this article we will try to analyze how the economic crisis affects the living conditions from the occupational therapy's point of view, show which have been the different phenomena that have led to this situation in Spain and reflect what policies have been implemented by governments to reduce the caused effects.

It will be shown the different impacts that the Spanish crisis has caused in the occupational areas, in the habits, routines and roles in the environment and of course on the physical and mental health of Spanish citizens.

In addition to property bubble and the tax regulation deficiences; the economic crisis has produced greater social exclusion, increased social inequalities and poverty. The human being is immersed in a social environment, which means that everything that happens in this net, affects their daily activities. As occupational therapists we must develop strategies to return the occupation to citizens and therefore to return the health.
