Resumen de Intervención de terapia ocupacional en usuarios con patología neurológica y/o disfunción física

  Objetivo: es demostrar la evidencia existente en Terapia Ocupacional en personas con enfermedades neurológicas y/o disfunción física para verificar que el tratamiento de T.O es rentable y eficiente en el Sistema Sanitario. Así mismo explicar el perfil del T.O en esta área, las intervenciones y programas que interviene.

  Metodología: llevada a cabo fue una búsqueda bibliográfica en las principales bases bibliográficas (PubMed, OTseeker, Scopus, Web of Knowledge), dando mayor hincapié a revisiones.

  Resultados: concluyen que el papel del terapeuta ocupacional en el equipo interdisciplinar es eficaz y efectivo para el Sistema Sanitario y Económico de la Comunidad Foral porque supone reducir la dependencia a largo plazo de esta población a través de un buen tratamiento rehabilitador.

  Conclusión: es que existen las necesidades que se observan en la encuesta sobre Discapacidades, Deficiencias y Situaciones de Dependencia realizada en 2008, y después de evidenciar la eficacia del terapeuta ocupacional, entendemos que es necesario implantar una intervención interdisciplinar. Además, las leyes otorgan el derecho a una atención integral de la persona ofrecida por profesionales especializados en los diferentes ámbitos, por lo que no sería lícito privar del servicio público de T.O a las personas afectadas por dichas patologías.

  Objective of this article is to provide evidence that Occupational Therapy is effective and relatively costless for the healthcare system, applied in patients with neurological and physical dysfunctions. In addition, this study explains the occupational therapist skills needed in this area and the treatments or activities to be performed.

  Methodology: the search was developed ad hoc in the main world databases, as PubMed, OTseeker, Scopus or Web of Knowledge), reviews were the most emphasized.

  Result: shows that the role of occupational therapist is effective in a multidisciplinary team. In addition, the intervention of occupational therapist is efficient for the Health Care and Economic System of Navarra because these interventions reduce the period of dependence through rehabilitation treatment.

  Conclusion: at the present time, there are needs that the survey about Disabilities, Deficiencies and Dependency Situations highlighted in 2008. It has demonstrated the effectiveness of the occupational therapist and the importance of an interdisciplinary intervention. In addition, laws grant the right to comprehensive attention implemented by specialist professionals of all areas. Therefore, it is illicit if the service of occupational therapy does not work at healthcare public system.
