    • THE BVA has welcomed a report in a national newspaper that George Eustice, the minister for farming and food, is considering labelling meat and fish as ‘stunned’ or ‘non-stunned’, which would be in line with the BVA's campaign on non-stun slaughter.

      The Daily Telegraph reported on December 20, that Mr Eustice ‘had given the clearest signal yet that the Government will introduce compulsory labelling of halal or kosher products’. The newspaper reported that, when addressing MPs, Mr Eustice had appeared to rule out UK products being labelled as ‘halal’ or ‘kosher’ but had said that, in future, meats could be sold as ‘stunned or ‘unstunned’...
