El turismo rural en España ha dado lugar a establecimientos con tipologías y grados de confort muy variables. La causa es la trasferencia de la capacidad normativa a las comunidades autónomas antes de los inicios del sector. Las islas Baleares no han quedado fuera de este nuevo sector y han desarrollado un turismo rural complementario al turismo tradicional de sol y playa. El turismo rural de Baleares posee características diferentes al de otras regiones. Estas diferencias queda plasmada en diversos aspectos, entre ellos la normativa autonómica. El objetivo de este trabajo es mostrar el contexto normativo del turismo rural de Baleares.

Rural tourism in Spain has led to establishments with typologies and degrees of comfort greatly. The cause is the transfer of legislative power to the regions before the start of the sector. The Balearic Islands have not been left out of this new sector and rural tourism has developed a complementary to traditional tourism of sun and beach. Rural tourism in the Balearic Islands has different characteristics than other regions. These differences are reflected in various aspects, including regional regulations. The aim of this paper is to show the normative context of rural tourism in the Balearic Islands.
