Resumen de El aprendizaje de la función cuadrática con tabletas a través del proceso de modelización

  Analizamos cualitativamente la implementación de un modelo de enseñanza y aprendizaje diseñado para trabajar la función cuadrática con tabletas a través de la modelización matemática de un fenómeno de la vida real en un grupo de 1º de bachillerato. El fenómeno estudiado es la relación entre el tiempo y la altura de una pelota dejada caer desde una cierta altura considerando solo el primer salto. El análisis de los datos revela que la realización de un estudio previo de las propiedades cualitativas del fenómeno y los conocimientos previos de los estudiantes, son clave en la elección de la función usada como modelo así como también en la interpretación de los resultados en términos del fenómeno. También se observa que los estudiantes presentan concepciones arraigadas sobre el concepto de altura.

  We analyse qualitatively the implementation of a teaching and learning model designed to work on the quadratic function with tablets through the mathematical modelling of a real-life phenomenon in a group of 11th grade students. The phenomenon studied is the relation between the time and the height of a ball when it is dropped from a certain height considering only the first jump. The analysis of the data reveals that a previous study of the qualitative properties of this phenomenon and the students' previous knowledge are key elements when they have to choose the function used as a model and they interpret the results in terms of the phenomenon. We also observe that the students have a rooted idea about the concept of height.
