  • Resumen
    • The Least Squares Regression formula is often applied in cases where the basic assumptions are not met, which leads to inaccuracies. For cases where the error limits exhibit large variations, it is shown that a modified procedure gives an improved straight line. In applying this to first order or pseudo-first order kinetic data, the error limits of the points do not need to be assessed individually. Using this approach, the method of Guggenheim is shown to give at least as accurate a value for the rate constant as does that of Kezdy-Swinbourne.
