Resumen de Influence of blade pitch on amplitude modulation of wind turbine noise

Rufin Makarewicz, Roman Golebiewski

  • Amplitude modulation of noise from a single turbine is considered. Description of the amplitude modulation depth (AMD) is based on three fundamental findings: at distances greater than 500 meters, AMD depends mainly on the wind profile and blade angle of attack and does not vary significantly with the distance. The primary result of this study is the relationship between AMD and the sum of the blade pitch angle and the blade twist when the stall effect occurs. Reduction of AMD by blade pitch control seems to be possible.
