Resumen de NM 10. Ileal digestibility of the root of six cultivars of sweet-potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.) in pigs

To determine the apparent digestibility, of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) in the ileum of six cultivars, harvested at 150 days. An experiment was run where twenty-one castrated male ileo-rectomized pigs weighing 35 kg were distributed among treatments design in randomized blocks with three repetitions The experimental adaptation period and preparation for surgery, lasted eight days, seven days for recovery and diet adaptation and 2 days for the sampling of the ileal digesta. The treatments were: 1: Basic diet (BD) and: 2 to 7: 75 % of BD plus 25 % root flour of the corresponding cultivar.
