Tradicionalmente la Economía Social ha jugado un papel crucial en el ámbito del bienestar social realizando funciones económicas y sociales complementarias y colaboradoras de la acción social pública. No obstante, este relevante rol ha venido limitada por su alta dependencia financiera externa. La necesidad constante de apoyo público, la naturaleza voluntaria de sus aportes, su atomización, y el hallarse muy alejadas de los planteamientos de las entidades financieras tradicionales, han determinado estructuras financieras débiles, condicionado su potencial de actuación y su significación económica y social.
Este planteamiento se ha visto agudizado con el advenimiento y pertinencia de la crisis económica, que ha evidenciado el absoluto desvalimiento de las arcas públicas, y de la ayuda financiera a la Economía Social, pero también por la mayor reticencia del sector financiero a su apoyo.
Sobre esta base se ha venido gestando una novísima forma de financiación social denominada Crowdfunding. El Crowdfunding (financiación colectiva, en masa o micromecenazgo on-line) conceptualiza la práctica de las personas que hacen red para conseguir recursos y financiar un proyecto concreto. Bajo distintas fórmulas operativas (recompensas, donaciones, préstamos, acciones) esta figura va adquiriendo un papel de primer orden en España con un ritmo de crecimiento superior al 50% anual. El objeto de este trabajo es el análisis del crowdfunding como novedosa y retadora estrategia de fundraising del Sector de Economía Social en el ámbito del bienestar social.
Traditionally the social economy has played a crucial role in the field of social welfare and collaborating performing complementary economic and social functions of public social action.
However, this important role has been limited by its high external financial dependence.
The constant need for public support, the voluntary nature of their contributions, their fragmentation, and be far away from the approach of traditional financial institutions have given weak financial structures, condi-mentioned potential for performance and their economic and social significance.
This approach has been intensified with the advent and relevance of the economic crisis, which has shown the absolute helplessness of public funds, and financial support to the social economy, but also by the greater reluctance of financial sector support.
On this basis it has been developing a brand new form of social finance called Crowdfunding.
The Crowdfunding (crowdfunding, crowdfunding mass or on-line) conceptualizes the practice of the people who make network resources and funding for a specific project. Under different operational formulas (rewards, grants, loans, equity) this figure takes on a leading role in Spain with a rate of over 50% annual growth. The object of this work is the analysis of crowdfunding as a novel and challenging fundraising strategy Social Economy Sector in the field of social welfare.
