Resumen de Las joyas reales de la Monarquía Hispánica: una aproximación iconográfica

  Aunque desde la configuración de la España moderna los reyes se proclaman en vez de coronarse, como es frecuente en otros países europeos, la representación de los monarcas españoles ha recurrido a imágenes de joyas que son insignias del poder, las �joyas reales� en sentido estricto. Sin embargo, apenas existen ejemplares físicos de este tipo de joyas, por lo que es preciso analizar si esas representaciones corresponden a objetos reales o son recursos meramente imaginarios .

  Además de recordar la existencia de algunos ejemplos excepcionales, importantes para el tema que nos ocupa, pretendemos demostrar que hay una mayor presencia de este recurso visual en la retratística oficial de los monarcas en momentos de crisis dinásticas y/o sucesorias, llegando incluso a incorporar novedades iconográficas.

  Todo ello pretende ofrecer nuevas perspectivas para la interpretación de los retratos oficiales y otros testimonios visuales en los territorios hispánicos.

  Although from the configuration of the modern Spain Kings are proclaimed instead of Crowning ceremony, as it is common in other European countries, the representation of the Spanish monarchs has resorted to images of jewels that are the insignia of power, the �royal jewels� in the strict sense. However,practically not have survived real exemples of this type of jewelry items, so it is necessary to examine whether these representations correspond to real-world objects or are purely imaginary. In addition is needed to remember the existence of some outstanding examples, importants for the subject which concerns us. We also intend to demonstrate that there is a greater presence of this visual resource in the official portraiture of the monarchs at times of dynastic troubles or succession crisis, even reaching create iconographic innovations. All this tries to offer new perspectives for the interpretation of the official portraits and other Visual items in the hispanic territories
