Resumen de El estudio de la infancia en la Prehistoria: el caso del Calcolítico en el valle del Duero

El análisis de los restos óseos de los individuos infantiles presenta ciertas complicaciones debido a la fragilidad de los mismos y por lo tanto a su difícil preservación. Sin embargo, el estudio de estos restos puede aportarnos una muy valiosa información sobre el comportamiento funerario que recibió esta parte de la sociedad, y al mismo tiempo comprender el papel social que tendrían dentro de la comunidad. El objetivo del presente trabajo es en primer lugar plantear cuales son los problemas y límites a la hora de estudiar restos óseos de inmaduros, para después analizar una muestra de individuos infantiles recuperados en los principales yacimientos calcolíticos del interior peninsular y del Valle del Duero.

The analysis of children skeletal remains has some problems due to their fragility and complicated preservation. However, the study of these remains may offer very precious information about the funerary treatment received by this part of the society and, at the same time, to understand its social role inside the group. The aim of this paper is to discuss which are the problems and limits when studying skeletal remains from immature individuals, and to analyse the available data of children recovered at the main Copper Age sites from the Inner Iberia and the Duero Basin.
