  La finalidad de este artículo es delimitar la posición competitiva de la industria castellano manchega, dedicando una especial atención a su situación tecnológica. El trabajo pone de manifiesto como la debilidad tecnológica de la industria castellano manchega es consecuencia del reducido esfuerzo tecnológico relativo regional, pero también de una estructura productiva que se orienta, fundamentalmente, hacia actividades de bajo contenido tecnológico. La insuficiencia tecnológica se manifiesta en una menor eficiencia productiva de la industria regional, especialmente en las manufacturas tradicionales en las que la región se encuentra especializada

  The aim of this paper is to investigate the competitive position of manufacturing industry in Castilla-La Mancha. We focus mainly on its technological situation. The results emphasize a technological weakness in the regional industry. This fact can be explained, on one hand, by the relative lower technological expenditure in the region. On the other hand, because of a productive structure deeply concentrated on industries with low technological intensity. The technological deficit promotes a smaller productive efficiency, specially in traditional manufacturing industries which the region is specialized in
