    • The essay discusses the involvement of German art historians in various jobs associated with Germany's war effort during World War I. Art historians discussed include Werner Weisbach, Otto Grautoff, and Albert Erich Brinckmann. These and other art historians were involved in journalism and Germany's propaganda efforts during the conflict. Art historians' connections to German patriotism and nationalism are examined.
