    El vino constituyó el primer producto exportador de las Islas Canarias desde mediados del siglo xvi hasta la cuarta década del siglo xix. Fue, pues, la principal riqueza de los insulares y con ella sufragaron las importaciones de bienes y servicios. Este artículo se inscribe en una línea de investigación que trata de cuantificar la cadena de valor generada por esta agroindustria. Estudia los inicios del segmento comercial de esta cadena, esto es, los precios del vino en las bodegas de la principal isla productora durante la fase de implantación y primer gran auge de este ciclo exportador.

    Wine was the main exporting product of the economy of the Canary Islands from mid xvi century to the fourth decade of xix century. It was, of course, the main wealth of the Islanders and with this wealth they supported the imports of goods and services. This article follows a line of investigation that tries to quantify the chain of value generated by this agrarian industry. It studies the beginnings of the commercial segment of this chain, this is, the prices of the wine in the wineries the main producing island during the phase of implantation and first great height of this exporting cycle.
