Resumen de Un debate arquitéctonico: tres diseños del siglo XVII para la construcción del Colegio de la Compañía de Jesús de Tudela (Navarra)

El presente artículo estudia el proyecto originario del colegio de la Compañía de Jesús de Tudela a través del análisis de tres planos inéditos localizados en el Archivo Real y General de Navarra, fechables a mediados del siglo XVII. Diseños interpretados por distintos arquitectos, el tudelano Francisco Gurrea, el francés Juan Dutreu y un tercero anónimo, como posibles soluciones a la distribución de las distintas dependencias articuladas en torno a un claustro y la iglesia aneja en un extremo del mismo con su fachada principal a la calle del Mercadal. Fuentes gráficas de gran importancia para aproximarnos a la disposición primigenia del edificio, irreconocible en la actualidad como consecuencia de las profundas transformaciones que ha sufrido a lo largo de los siglos tras la expulsión de los jesuitas en 1767.

The current article studies the original project of the school of the Society of Jesus of Tudela through the analysis of three previously unknown plans located at the Royal and General Archive of Navarra, datable to the mid-seventeenth century. Designs interpreted by different architects, Francisco Gurrea from Tudela, the French John Dutreu and an anonymous third one, as possible solutions to the distribution of the rooms organized around a cloister and a church attached to its edge with the main facade facing the Mercadal street. Graphic sources important to approach the primitive arrangement of the building, now unrecognizable as a result of the profound changes it has undergone over the centuries after the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1767.
