Resumen de Intervención del y la profesional de enfermería ante las necesidades religiosas de la persona hospitalizada

  Este artículo estudia cómo se desarrolla la intervención del y la profesional de enfermería ante las necesidades religiosas de las personas hospitalizadas en un hospital público clase A. La metodología empleada es la cualitativa de tipo fenomenológico-hermenéutico. Los datos se obtuvieron por medio de entrevistas en profundidad y grupos focales con los y las profesionales de enfermería que laboran en el hospital. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto que la religiosidad debería integrarse más estrechamente con la intervención de enfermería; no obstante, esta visión no se lleva a la práctica. Se determinó que, en el y la paciente, el concepto de salud incluye la religiosidad y se reconoció la importancia de tomar en cuenta las necesidades religiosas de las personas. Se concluyó que la religiosidad es parte del concepto de salud y por ende el o la profesional de enfermería debería de considerar esas necesidades religiosas aunque existan factores limitantes para incorporarlas a las prácticas de salud.

  The objective of this research was to determine the nursing professional´s intervention with the religious needs of the hospitalized person.

  It was analyzed from the health concept, knowledge and its implementation in a class "A" public hospital. This was a qualitative research of phenomenological-hermeneutic methodology. The data was obtained through focus groups with nursing professionals of the previously mentioned hospital; also, indepth interviews conducted with experts were important to gather information. The results showed that religiosity should be more relevant in the nursing intervention but it´s not included in their actual practice. The health concept includes religiosity, so the importance of the people´s religious needs was highlighted, although they were not taken in mind for different reasons. The hospitalized person´s religious needs can be influential to their health, as holistic human beings are these needs have to be addressed. The need to promote education and training in this topic is highlighted. In conclusion, religion is part of the health concept and nurses should intervene with the religious needs, although different factors limit their intervention.
