  • Resumen
    • Ringing and retrap data of Tringa ochropus from 1983 to 1985 and from 1988 to 1989 in a reedbed in Central Spain (Tagus Valley, Madrid 39O 56' N, 3O 47' W) were analysed. The study urea is characterised by seasonal pools which are reduced to mud in summer. Altogethec 62 birds were captured. The main autumn passage occurred between late August and early October, with two periods of maximum passage. Males tended to migrate earlier than females. Stopover time for two birds was, respectively, seven and 49 days. The Green Sandpiper shows some fidelity to its resting areas during autumn migration
