  • Since 1976, when linda buki was placed in charge of Folk Artists in the Schools projects funded by the national endowment for the Arts (neA), this field has grown to immense proportions. unfortunately, though, these proj- ects are often funded through the neA and state arts councils. with dwindling funds, many pro- grams have not survived budget battles.
