Resumen de Una democracia plural e inclusiva

Javier de Lucas Martín

  • A Plural and Inclusive Democracy This article analyzes the challenges for the liberal-democracy in a globalized world. The author holds that only through the deepening of the multiple ways to full citizenship it will be possible to answer these challenges. The fragmentation of citizenship into diverse aspects as well as the splintering and later denial of citizenship rights, foremost social rights has made the very category of citizenship meaningless. Today the correlation between rights and poverty clearly emerges. Nonetheless, immigration indeed provides a telling proof and, at the same time, the best test for our democracy.
