Resumen de Afganistán: en vísperas del decisivo 2014

  La campaña de verano de 2013 es la última desarrollada con un elevado número de tropas extranjeras. A final de este año menos de la mitad se encontrarán ya en suelo afgano. La transferencia de responsabilidad plena al Gobierno afgano continúa, mientras cada vez mayor número de unidades afganas son capaces de actuar de forma autónoma. Pero frente a estos datos positivos hay que tener en cuenta que la violencia sigue presente en el día a día, que las negociaciones en marcha avanzan lentamente y sin resultados tangibles hasta el momento y que el futuro económico del país no está asegurado. En definitiva el escenario pos-2014 aún se muestra lleno de incertidumbres.

  The summer of 2013 is the latest campaign with the participation of a large number of foreign troops in Afghanistan. At the end of the current year less than the half of those troops will remain on Afghan soil. Meanwhile the complete transfer of responsibility to the Afghan government continues, while increasing number of Afghan units able to act autonomously. But against these positive data should be borne in mind that violence is still present in the day to day, the ongoing negotiations do not show tangible results so far and the country�s economic future is not assured. In short, the post 2014 scenario is still full of uncertainties.
