  • This is the second annual bibliography published by the Journal of Garden History. As in the previous year its aim is to provide a comprehensive coverage of British publications listed in the British National Bibliography between January 1983 and January 1984. This material is supplemented by the scanning of the Art Index, the Repertoire d'art et d'archeologie, RILA and a large number of periodicals. As in the past the Journal's foreign correspondents have contributed selections of the literature published in their countries. This year our grateful thanks go to Carol Bondhus Fitzgerald (USA), Ursula Grafin zu Dohna (Germany and Austria), Sabine Eiche (Italy), William Lake Douglas (USA), Carla Oldenburger-Ebbers and Liesbeth Missel (The Netherlands and Belgium), Matthias Quast (Germany and Austria). The format and arrangement of the bibliography follows the one reproduced in the third issue of Vol. 2 (July-September 1982), pp. 293-296. Cross references are provided wherever relevant.
