El Romanticismo alemán constituye un momento clave en la cultura occidental en el que las relaciones entre filosofía y literatura resultan especialmente estrechas y presentan un propósito común: solucionar los problemas del hombre moderno. Tras los excesos del racionalismo ilustrado, los románticos consideran un imperativo recuperar la armonía perdida del hombre con lo divino y con la naturaleza.
Esta aspiración se manifiesta tanto en la filosofía como en la literatura, pero de manera distinta. Nos proponemos en este trabajo mostrar cómo se articula esa tendencia hacia el Ideal desde cada una de las disciplinas, para lo cual nos basaremos en autores como Hamann, Herder, Humboldt, Goethe, Schiller, Schlegel y, en particular, Hoffmann.

German Romanticism is a key period in Western culture in which philosophy and literature are close related and have the same aim: to help modern man to overcome the difficulties of his age. After the Enlightenment, it seems clear that romantic man has to reconstruct the harmonic bond between man, God and nature.
This ambition is stated both in literature and philosophy, but in a different way. This paper deals with the ways in which this trend toward Ideal is shown in both philosophy and literature. We will take into account authors such as Hamann, Herder, Humboldt, Goethe, Schiller, Schlegel and Hoffmann specially
