César I. Astudillo Reyes

The article is aimed at determining how concepts developed in different fields of science can be applied to the study of comparative law, thus enhancing its language and methodology. For example, by referring to the concepts of "genotipo" and "fenotipo" the author attempts to identify the elements that confer a private identity to the notion of Constitution. He then analyzes the forms in which this information will be translated in constitutional texts. Under these premises, the author moves on to analyse the elements of the núcleo genético of Judicial Review, their main constitutional structure. The authors aim is to propose, under this perspective, new classifications. Moreover, the author describes a series of peculiarities typical of Judicial Review as carried out in a number of Latin American countries. He then describes how the development of some of these features can support the existence of real models. Finally, the author analyses the external beneficial influences on the Mexican system of judicial review.
