    Este artículo es una especie de Estado de la cuestión sobre la estructura territorial del Estado español, tal y como está reflejada en la Constitución de 1978. Aborda, de forma descriptiva, pero también analítica, los elementos que constituyen nuestra actual estructura territorial, utilizando como fuente básica el estudio del articulado del texto constitucional. Para abordar este tema, en primer lugar hemos descrito las dificultades que ha tenido el Estado español para definirse a lo largo de su historia constitucional, toda vez que se trata de una organización política que incluye a diferentes sentimientos nacionalistas centrípetos, así como sentimientos centrífugos. En segundo lugar, hemos descrito, de forma más o menos rigurosa, los elementos que afectan al ordenamiento constitucional en el texto de 1978. Es importante, por tanto, desarrollar una exposición sincrónica del modelo territorial, pero sin dejar de lado la perspectiva diacrónica para así poder aprehender, en mayor o menor medida, la dimensión de este problema histórico, jurídico y político.

    That article is a sort of a State of the Question about the territorial structure of the Spanish State, in the way in which it has been defined in the Constitution of 1978. It tackles, in a descriptive way, but also, in an analytic way, the elements that form the actual territorial structure, using as a basic fountain, the study of the articles of the constitutional text. In order to tackle this topic, in the first place we have made a description of the huge difficulties the Spanish State has had to define, through its constitutional history, because it has been a political organisation which has included different centripetal feelings, and also centrifugal feelings. Secondly, we have described, in a more or less rigorous way, of the elements that affect the structure of the Spanish State, in the constitutional text. Thus, it�s important to develop a synchronous exposition of the territorial pattern, but without letting out the diachronic perspective so that we can grasp the correct dimension of this historical, juridical and political problem.
