    O artigo aborda a biblioterapia como possibilidade de terapia por meio da leitura. Sugere práticas de leitura que proporcionem interpretação de textos e comentários adicionais a eles. Pode ser utilizada em tratamentos de pessoas acometidas por doenças físicas e mentais, é aplicável na educação, na saúde e reabilitação de indivíduos. Investiga a atuação do bibliotecário como biblioterapeuta, tendo em vista que ainda são poucos os estudiosos da biblioterapia no Brasil. Vamos fazer algumas reflexões a respeito do que a literatura contempla sobre o assunto, salientando os benefícios proporcionados aos submetidos à prática da biblioterapia. A carência de informações sobre a prática, ainda é grande, porém as literaturas mostram eficiência desta aplicação desde muito tempo.

    The article discusses the possibility of bibliotherapy as a therapy through reading. It is suggested that reading practices can provide interpretation of texts and comments about them. It can be used in the treatment of people suffering from mental and physical illnesses. It can be also applied in education, health and rehabilitation of individuals. This study investigates the role of the librarian as bibliotherapist, given that there are few scholars of bibliotherapy in Brazil. Some reflections are made concerning about what is referred on literature about this subject, stressing the benefits to patients undergoing the practice of bibliotherapy. The lack of information about this practice is still a big problem, but the literature shows efficiency of this application since long ago.
