En el libro Pedagogía de la autonomía, Paulo Freire presenta �la cuestión de la formación docente junto a la reflexión sobre la práctica educativa progresista a favor de la autonomía del ser de los educandos� (2002: 15), donde se señala la función del maestro: enseñar. La enseñanza tiene una intencionalidad ética y política que implica una actitud progresista frente al mundo. Entre otras, estas son algunas de las preocupaciones que Freire plantea a propósito de la concepción de maestro.
En este artículo se pretende: i. Establecer la función del maestro en la obra de Paulo Freire, Pedagogía de la autonomía. ii. Precisar la relación que existe entre la concepción de maestro y la intencionalidad de la enseñanza. iii. Señalar cómo la actitud progresista del docente, además de ser una cualidad, es una opción política-pedagógica, tendiente a la formación de la autonomía de la infancia y la juventud en la escuela.
In the book Pedagogy of Autonomy the author presents �The question of teacher training next to the reflection on progressive educational practice in favor of the autonomy of being of the students� (2002: 15) where the teacher�s function is explained: to teach. Teaching has an ethical and political intentionality that implies a progressive view of the world. These are some of the concerns about pedagogy that Freire raises.
The aim of this article is: i. To establish the function of the teacher in the work of Paulo Freire, �Pedagogy of Autonomy�. ii. To clarify the relation between the definition of teacher and the intentionality of teaching, and iii. To indicate how the teachers progressive attitude, besides being a quality, is also a politico-pedagogical choice, leading to the formation of autonomy in children and youths within the school.
