Resumen de La historiografía francesa sobre el PCF. Controversias científicas y polémicas (1964-2010)

Pese a su desconexión con los intereses de la sociedad actual, el PCF ocupa un lugar preferente en la memoria colectiva de los franceses por la relevancia e influencia de la que disfrutó en un pasado aún reciente. Este artículo muestra los principales hitos de la historiografía francesa sobre el PCF, desde sus orígenes militantes hasta el surgimiento y desarrollo de una historiografía científica, incidiendo en el actual debate por imponer una concreta memoria del comunismo francés que, como la Guerra de Argelia y Mayo del 68, es invocado e interpretado en el presente para servir a unos concretos intereses sociales y políticos.

Although it no longer has an influence on current society, the French Communist Party has a favoured place in the collective memory of the French because of the relevance and influence it did have in the nottoo-distant past. This article shows the principal milestones in the French historiography on the PCF, from its militant origins to the appearance and development of a scientific historiography, resulting in the current debate over imposing a specific memory of French communism which, like the Algerian War and May 68, is now being invoked and interpreted in order to serve certain social and political interests.
