Resumen de Evolución histórica de la iglesia de Santa María de Lorca (Murcia) a través de la arqueología

  La intervención arqueológica realizada en la iglesia de Santa María de Lorca consistió en la ejecución de una excavación arqueológica y un estudio murario, que ha permitido documentar las sucesivas ocupaciones y usos que se le hace a esta zona de Lorca, así como las diferentes remodelaciones que sufrió este templo a lo largo del tiempo, desde época prehistórica hasta su momento de abandono tras la Guerra Civil, pasando por momentos de gran actividad debido a su ubicación dentro de la medina de la ciudad de Lorca, y ya en época cristiana, debido a su preeminencia como iglesia principal de la ciudad hasta la construcción de San Patricio en el siglo XVI.

  The archaeological intervention in the Santa María church of Lorca consisted of the execution of an archaeological excavation and a wall study, which have allowed to report the successive occupations and the uses that this area of Lorca, as well as the different changes that this temple has suffered along the years, in the prehistoric age to the moment when it was abandoned after the Spanish Civil War, having moments of great activity due to its location inside the medina of the Lorca city, and in a Christian age, due to the preeminence as the main church of the city until the San Patricio's construction in the XVI century.
